Mark has over 20 years of corporate finance and business management experience in a large variety of roles. Mark’s initial senior role was Manager of Corporate Finance at Arthur Andersen and he was involved in significant IPO and merger activity in the resource and energy sectors.

Subsequently he has gained extensive experience at a board and management level in a number of successful ventures and as principal in a wide variety of industries.

Mark was a founder and a director of Incremental Petroleum Ltd from the company’s inception in 2003, through to acquisition of a 1500 BOPD oilfield in Turkey, ASX listing, production and profit growth and later its ultimate sale in 2009.

Mark holds a number of other Board positions in ASX listed companies including Mawson West, Orrex Resources and Kula Gold (Chairman).

John Whisler is an innovative, entrepreneurial executive with more than 25 years experience in leading, developing, and implementing projects that have created value in the oil and gas industry.  He has a successful-track record of managing and growing both public and private exploration and production companies.  His diverse and extensive background in the US oil and gas industry covers all aspects of operations, including exploration, business development, acquisitions and divestures, corporate & project management, financial & economics, field operations, production and extensive experience in drilling and completions.

He joined Delek Energy US and Elk Companies in July 2008 as the Vice President of Operations, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in January of 2009, and was then promoted to Chief Executive Officer in May 2010.  He served as Chief Executive Officer until 2011 when he was personally responsible for the divesture of all the US assets in multiple transactions, in order to assist the parent company in funding the new natural gas discoveries off the coast of Israel with Noble Energy.  While at Delek John was responsible for the acquisition of multiple assets in the USA, design and implement work-over plans, re-completions, and optimize production in multiple mature fields within these assets.

Before joining Delek Energy, John served as VP of Operations/Operations Manager of Petrogulf Corporation (PGC).  He first joined Petrogulf Corporation in 2001 and served in roles of increasing responsibility from operations engineer to VP of Operations.  He engineered, implemented, drilled, completed, developed and managed the San Juan Basin, Piceance Basin and Raton Basin from the ground floor.  While at PGC, he implemented and drilled a 140 well field with infrastructure in 3 years with limited resources, optimized production through well-intervention completions and on site supervision and managed the non-brokered divesture, negotiated and closed of a $220M divesture with a 2.81 ROI.

Prior to his engagement with PGC, Mr. Whisler served as Operations Engineer for BRG Petroleum where he supervise oil and gas exploration, production, WO, and daily operations from 1994 to 2000 with extensive field operations.

John is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.  He has served on several nonprofit company boards and advisory teams.

Mr GERRY McGANN  B.Sc (Hons)
Non-executive Technical Director

Gerry has over 40 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry in a career that has spanned all five continents. As a petroleum geologist he has been instrumental in the discovery of oilfields totalling more than 200 million barrels in Australia, Middle East and the North Sea. As Exploration Manager for Occidental Petroleum, Gerry was responsible in increasing production from 32,000 bopd to 52,000 bopd in 3 years in Oman. Gerry was one of only seven exploration managers in Occidental Petroleum, and one of only four Chief Scientists in Baker Hughes (approximately 30,000 employees).

Gerry was a founding shareholder and Managing Director of Incremental Petroleum. He identified the Selmo Oilfield in Turkey in 2005 and increased the production from a declining 1500 bopd to 2000 bopd when the company was sold in March 2009.

Additional appointments in the last 5 years include a non-executive directorship of Target Energy in 2009.

Gerry taught Petroleum Geology at degree and post-degree level at Curtin University for seven years. He was the president of three chapters of the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) and has been an invited speaker to SPWLA and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists annual conventions. He has published 14 technical papers and is a certified petroleum geologist. He is a founding investor in IOG.

Non-executive Director

Matt earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Oklahoma--College of Law in 1995 and a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Vermont in 1991.

In 2001, after serving in private practice in the US for 6 years, Matt became General Counsel at Riata Energy, Inc., which later became SandRidge Energy, Inc., a NYSE listed corporation. Before leaving SandRidge in 2007, he ultimately served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary. In 2007 Matt joined the Riata Corporate Group, a large privately owned group of companies that has substantial oil and gas interests in the US where he currently focuses on business development.

He was Chief Executive Officer at TransAtlantic Petroleum Ltd, a TSX and NYSEMKT listed oil and gas exploration and production company from 2009 until 2011 where he was instrumental in growing TransAtlantic from a junior explorer to a significant international oil and gas producer.
